| In
1961, Edward Hicks started Edwards Photographic Studio on Washington
Avenue in downtown Lansing. At that time, there were four Hicks
Studios in Michigan so Mr. Hicks used his first name in the business
title. When Lansing Community College bought the property on the
north end of Washington, Mr. Hicks moved the studio to the corner
of Cedar Street and Greenlawn Avenue.
Ron Jones Sr. joined
the studio in 1968, and after a year and a half of training, Mr.
Hicks asked Ron Sr. to stay on as an employee. Ron Sr. and Mr.
Hicks became partners in 1978 and when Mr. Hicks retired in 1985,
Ron Sr. bought the business and the building.
In
1990, we were informed the Cedar Street was to be widened and
our building was coming down. The Studio was then moved to its
current location at 3808 S Cedar Street.
In
2002 Edwards Photographic Studio began employing digital technology
for much of our portrait work.
Currently, we take
full advantage of all of the exciting innovations in the field
of photography and will continue to give our clients the high
quality portraiture they have come to expect from Edwards Photographic
Studio.
